One of the first virtual tours we created when we started our business 11 years ago was the behavioral health program where I worked as Assistant Director of Admissions. I asked that we create a virtual tour for the program because I realized that people making the difficult decision to choose professional help for behavioral health and addiction needed all the information they could get. I found that after we created the virtual tour for the program where I worked, I was able to focus more on explaining our therapeutic program instead of answering logistical questions about our facilities.
What Made this Healthcare Photo Shoot Unique
There is always an additional level of care that must be taken when photographing any type of residential treatment center. We must always be aware that the people at those programs are focused on their recovery and we strive to work around the needs of the program. Additionally, we have to be aware to avoid showing any items or information that may reveal personal information about the residents of the program. Having a photography team who is familiar with HIPAA requirements and the importance of anonymity in a treatment facility is crucial.
People choosing to enter treatment for substance abuse are often overwhelmed with uncertainty and questions. When we photograph a facility like the Bluffs, our goal is to show prospective clients “A Day In the Life” of the program. Our experience, after photographing so many of these facilities, is that the virtual tour can help answer some of the questions about the logistics of the facility. Hopefully this allows them to focus on choosing the right therapeutic program with confidence.
Mixing Business With Pleasure
We take a great deal of pleasure in working with behavioral health and substance abuse programs. Of course we love shooting beautiful houses on the beach or hotels in exotic locations. But if just one person chooses to get treatment based on our photos and healthcare virtual tours, we feel like we have accomplished what we set out to do.
Our behavioral health virtual tours and photography allow me to keep one foot in an environment that energizes and fulfills me like nothing else ever could.
