Boutique Hotel Photography
We have built our hotel photography company primarily focusing on midscale branded hotels. We love that type of hotel photography but we enjoy the challenge of photographing an independent boutique hotel because it gives us a different creative freedom. The management company for the hotel is one of our great clients and they knew that we could provide them with the same great hotel photography that we provide for their large branded hotels. In fact, we shot the hotel at the same time that we were shooting their Hampton Inn that was just down the street!
What Made This Hotel Photo Shoot Unique
Shooting two hotels at once meant that we could bounce between the properties. We love working with this management company because they send their marketing person from the corporate office. I can honestly say that without her, we would not have had as successful an outcome as we did. She and I were able to multi-task and split the preparation work between us.
Every room at the hotel is unique and different and some are easier than others to capture. Our specialty is providing consistency across all of the photos. Some of the rooms are easier to shoot than others but they needed us to showcase what made each room unique.
Mixing Business With Pleasure
The hotel is located in downtown Hartsville, SC. It is located on a busy downtown street in a beautiful small town. This made for gorgeous exterior shots but also meant the we had to work around lots of people on a public street. We all celebrated when we wrapped up the shoots! I would not have guessed that the small town of Hartsville, SC would be home of some of the best pad Thai I have eaten but when we were done with our shoot, we celebrated with Thai food and a big sigh of relief.
