DoubleTree by Hilton St. Louis Forest Park
Hilton Approved Hotel Photography
After an extensive rebrand and remodel, the DoubleTree by Hilton St. Louis Forest Park was excited for new hotel photography for their website and their marketing. The Director of Sales, Richelle, was one of the most diligent people we have worked with! She studied the information I gave her and the Doubletree/Hilton photography guidelines. She involved the whole team at the hotel to make sure that everything was ready upon our arrival.
What Made This Hotel Photo Shoot Unique
The hotel is located adjacent to Barnes Jewish Hospital and has a walkway joining the hotel to the hospital. The guests of the hotel are lucky to have such a gorgeous and convenient. In fact, when we were photographing the hotel, Greg’s aunt was a patient at the hospital. Due to COVID restrictions, we were unable to visit her but we got a first hand taste of how special the location is.
While that location is great for guests and patients at the hospital, it definitely made exterior shots difficult. Due to the time of year, our twilight shots had to be done in the middle of rush hour! That’s always challenging since rush hour is also the time when many people check in. The hotel shares its location and parking with an Applebee’s restaurant so that was an added challenge as dinner guests also showed up right as we were shooting outside.
The hotel chose to add our aerial photography which was a great addition but added another layer of difficulty. Weather wasn’t great but as we flew the drone over the hotel, the skies cleared and we captured some beautiful shots showing the location and views of downtown.
Mixing Business With Pleasure
While we are a national hotel photography company, we are always happy to work closer to home. St. Louis is just a couple of hours from where we live so we are usually driving through on the way to somewhere else. There were a few last minute additions that the hotel needs to make so we will plan to go back to shoot the updates.
Thanks to everyone at the DoubleTree by Hilton St. Louis Forest Park and especially Richelle for really making this a great shoot.
