We have been photographing for Crown Hotel and Travel Management for many years and their hotels are always spectacular. This one was no exception and we had a great time working with the team to capture photos of the beautiful hotel.
When you’ve been doing something as long as we have been photographing hotels, clients tend to become friends. We were so excited when we got a call from Geoff Cipkala to let us know that their company had taken on a new venture. We have worked with Geoff for more than 10 years and he knows what to expect when he hires us.
I have driven by the Mariner’s Suites hotel hundreds of times but never knew it was aWe were filled with The Mariner’s Suites is located in Kingsland, GA which is the town next to one of my family’s favorite places on earth. Cumberland Island was where I spent most of my vacations since I was a young girl and the road in front of Mariner’s Suites is one that brings back warm memories for me. We typically shoot major brand hotels that are midscale limited service properties but the place where we can add the MOST value is with independent hotels and motels.
The property caters to families who are moving into the area after being transferred to the King’s Bay Naval base. One of the unique things about this shoot is that they own the storage units that are next to the property. I am an Air Force brat who knows that sometimes it takes a while to get settled after a move so the additional convenience of having storage units next to the temporary living is a brilliant idea.

We photographed one of the hotels that is near the new Fairfield Inn and Suites for Ascent Hospitality several times during their renovation so we were able to watch this hotel being built. As always, it was wonderful to work with the team from Ascent who made this another fantastic hotel photo shoot.
We love shooting Marriott hotels because the Marriott brand standards are so specific and easy to follow. We had worked with the Director of Sales for this hotel on previous shoots so she knew what we expected. They had done a great job getting everything ready for our arrival and that meant that I got a chance to fine tune the details in the rooms.
Fairfield Inn & Suites is actually my favorite hotels to photograph of all the brands that we have worked with. The rooms are so consistent and the bedding cooperates with our efforts to remove the wrinkles. This one was no exception!
