The brand new Drury Plaza Hotel in Richmond, VA was a great subject for our hotel photography. We had originally been scheduled to photograph the hotel a couple of weeks earlier but the weather was terrible so we rescheduled. This gave the hotel a little longer to get everything ready.
There are some properties that are more photogenic than others and this one was one of them. The expansive lobby was one of the things that made it photo worthy was also the thing that made it more challenging. We had lots of people who were enjoying the space so we had to work around the guests. That’s one of the benefits of working with us – we understand that the guests come first and we are flexible!
One challenge of photographing new hotels is that there are usually areas that are not available when we arrive. While it is important to photograph the hotel early so that you can share the photos online, it is also important to factor in the last minute areas that may not be ready.
