Hotel photography in the winter is always a gamble but we were blessed with great weather in the middle of December when we photographed the Drury Inn and Suites – Columbus Polaris. While December may not always be the best time to photograph hotels in Ohio, the hotel was brand new and it was important to show off all the hard work.

Drury has some beautiful hotels but this one had a unique lobby and breakfast area. The colors and the decor photographed beautifully and as usual everyone at the property took pride in making sure the they were ready for the photo shoot.

While we love all our clients, we had an instant rapport with the general manager as soon as we found out that we were all Georgia Bulldogs football fans. Of course being in Ohio State territory, he couldn’t say that part too loud. We knew that we had found a kindred soul!

The brand new Drury Plaza Hotel in Richmond, VA was a great subject for our hotel photography. We had originally been scheduled to photograph the hotel a couple of weeks earlier but the weather was terrible so we rescheduled. This gave the hotel a little longer to get everything ready.

There are some properties that are more photogenic than others and this one was one of them. The expansive lobby was one of the things that made it photo worthy was also the thing that made it more challenging. We had lots of people who were enjoying the space so we had to work around the guests. That’s one of the benefits of working with us – we understand that the guests come first and we are flexible!

One challenge of photographing new hotels is that there are usually areas that are not available when we arrive. While it is important to photograph the hotel early so that you can share the photos online, it is also important to factor in the last minute areas that may not be ready.

We want to thank everyone at the property who worked so hard to make this a successful hotel photo shoot!

The Drury Inn and Suites in Findlay, OH was recently renovated and they were excited for new hotel photography to show off their hard work. The property is beautiful and we were happy to have great weather including a lovely sunset the night of our twilights.

The team at the hotel did a very thorough job preparing for our arrival. Thanks to everybody who worked so hard to make this a successful hotel photo shoot!

Drury Hotels Approved Hotel Photography

Our hotel photography for the Drury Plaza Hotel – Cleveland Hotel was an absolute blast. The building was previously the Board of Education building and Drury did an amazing job turning it into a  hotel. With almost 4,000 square feet of meeting space and 189 rooms, the hotel retains the history of the building while creating a beautiful hotel.

What Made This Hotel Photo Shoot Unique

Our first attempt to capture the exterior photos was hampered by dense fog so it took us several tries to get the great weather we needed. Eventually the skies cleared and allowed us to capture beautiful exterior photos that showcased not just the beauty of the hotel as well as the amazing location.

Mixing Business With Pleasure

This was our first time in downtown Cleveland and we fell in love with the area. We finished in time to take a fun bike ride and see even more of the city.

The hotel team was so excited to finally have professional hotel photography to show off all their hard work so they were very prepared for our arrival. Their meeting space is a huge selling feature so we focused on showing how those areas can be used for both large and small meetings.

We can’t thank the staff at the Drury Plaza Hotel – Cleveland Downtown enough — This was a great shoot for us and we look forward to visiting again soon.
